“The Whitestarr camp has a lot of things,” says Adler. “Big houses, fancy cars, lots of women, but we’ve never actually sold a record. A lot of people don’t like to take us seriously . . . because we are ‘privileged children.’ ” Looking over Malibu beach, Adler explains he’s really not that privileged - “We’re lucky enough to have a pool, but not a pool cleaner.” He goes on, “I’m privileged because my father has money . . . I have that stigma attached. But if I could buy a platinum record, I would have bought it a long time ago.”
