Goldstein was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday, a rep for the late star tells us, adding that the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear.
The NY Fire Department tells us they received a call at 5:24 p.m. and were dispatched to an address where the male on the scene was pronounced dead at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, a law enforcement official tells the Associated Press that police discovered a crack pipe and prescription pills in Goldstein's apartment, but there were no signs of foul play. A medical examiner is looking into the cause of death.
Last September, the late star and Travis Barker survived a deadly plane crash.
In 2005, Goldstein got engaged to Nicole Richie. They broke up later that year. He has also been romantically linked to actress Mandy Moore.
