Rapper Jay-Z says that not everybody was happy when he got married to singer Beyonce. The 39-year-old offended a few people when he didn't invite all of his friends to the ceremony. The star says they kept their wedding back in April 2008 secret because of "late planning". He said: "The sad part is that we offended some. But people who love you understand. Because at the end of the day, it’s your day." The Brooklyn-born singer said there were "very few" close friends and family at the ceremony, which was held at his penthouse apartment in NYC. Afterwards, the couple threw a lavish party. Guests at the party included the Bootylicious beauty's parents, Tina and Matthew Knowles, her sister Solange and her fellow Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. The hip-hop artist also opened up about how he used to deal drugs at the age of 13 because there weren't any black teachers, lawyers or other professionals in his neighbourhood. He said: "If anyone did become something like that, they moved out. "They never came back to share the wisdom of how they made it. If anyone made it, you never knew it. That's why I’ve always said that if I become successful, I'd come back here, grab somebody, and show him how it can be done."
