Fans yearn for view of Jackson funeral

GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) — The few fans gathered to say goodbye to Michael Jackson are doing so at a distance.

Dozens of die-hard King of Pop devotees congregated in the heat outside a security perimeter that stretched for several blocks around Forest Lawn Glendale, where Jackson's funeral service was under way Thursday.

As the sun set, more fans stationed themselves at the edges of the security perimeter, hoping to see something — anything — while guests arrived.

    • When someone touches your life the way Michael did, it's not that easy to let go. Now someone like you... well that's a different story. You can be forgotten in a second. I will get over it when I am good and ready too.

  • I think it sucks that we as his fans are not allowed to say goodbye to our idol as though we have no rights to be able to say goodbye!! I live in Australia but am saving to come to America and l would love to be able to see my idol as l love him...
