Swimmer Amanda Beard Gives Birth to Baby Boy

Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard is accustomed to gold around her neck and now she has a bundle of blue in her arms. The champion athlete has given birth to a baby boy.

According to People, the new mom welcomed Blaise Ray Brown on Tuesday in Los Angeles. The baby weighed in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces.

Beard told People, “"I was in labor for about 16 hours and it was all worth it. He is happy and healthy and everything went as planned."

The swimmer married photographer Sacha Brown in a wedding off the coast of Indonesia in May.

"It was the most amazing experience that Sacha and I have ever experienced. We are so happy to be new parents! This is going to be the best adventure ever," Beard told People.
