Paula Abdul: 'Idol' Will Be a Different Show with Ellen DeGeneres at The Insider

Just In: Paula Abdul Wishes Ellen 'The Best of Luck' on 'American Idol'

Paula Abdul gives her opinion of the choice to have funny lady Ellen DeGeneres replace her at the "American Idol" judges' table.

"It's just going to be a different show," she said of the change, while on the KISS FM Phoenix radio show Johnjay and Rich.

The radio hosts asked Abdul if she ever had second thoughts about leaving the show, of which she replied, "I think that happened during the time I was making that very difficult decision."

The former "Idol" judge said that she fought with herself about leaving the program and asked herself the question, "Am I willing to go against what my beliefs are?"

So, what's next for the entertainer? Abdul said she's only "scratched the surface" of things she wants to do, revealing that she will be producing some TV shows and creating a show in Las Vegas.

"American Idol" returns for a new season in January 2010.

I so much enjoy Pauls..am very sad to see her go..I beleive the powers that be will regret this move..I like ellen but she doesn't have Paula charm..also enjot the foreplay of her and Simon..that was also one of the main reasons I watced the show to...

I can't see it being the same with Ellen. I wonder how much they paid her; if her contract is more than what Paula wanted, I think it's a bad decision. http://www.gamesncs.com/rd_p?p=186122

The entertainment industry has always been cannibalistic. Paula had some insight into the specific genre, but remember that comedians normally open for big acts. Maybe Ellen has gleamed some insight from her years in entertainment. Hopefully more...

Paula knows music..Ellen doesnt...not sure that I will watch it they should have just payed Paula the money, they would be better off....I have heard several people say they wouldnt watch it now!

omg, I think this is the stupidest decision that the directors over at American Idol have made. I like Ellen, but what the hell does she know about the music business??? She tries to dance on her show but I have seen better moves on on some of my 90...

Ellen was a guest judge on "So you think you can Dance" and she was pathetic. Her comments regarding the dance routines were so lame.
Paula's going to have the last laugh on this one. They should have payed her the money!

There is no comparison between Paula and Ellen-Ellen is NOT a judge-Paula IS! If they had to have Ellen-they should have never had Kara come back and Kept Paula..Kara is a Paula wannabe! Bring Paula back!
