Lily Allen Is Quitting the Music Business!
Sad news, Lily Allen fans; according to the New Musical Express, the "Smile" singer is abandoning her music career, perhaps in favor of a future in acting. In a (since removed) entry on her blog, Allen announced that she won't be renewing her contract with record label EMI and is not pursuing a recording contract with another label. Allen wrote, "Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record. I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade."
