New Video: 'Late Show' Audience Reacts to Letterman Apology

"The Insider" is getting the firsthand reaction from members of Monday's studio audience of the "Late Show with David Letterman" who were there as the funnyman apologized on Monday night.

One woman said, "He was sincere, and in his typical fashion, he joked about it."

Another woman commented, "He handled himself very well. He was serious, in that I think he realizes the magnitude of what’s going on, he realizes his part in it, and he was very sincere in his, just his sadness over what this has created for his staff and for his family and he didn’t make fun of the situation, he just made fun of himself."

Last Thursday, Letterman, as a result of an alleged extortion plot against him, revealed he had sexual relationships with some female staffers.

  • Letterman is guilty of poor judgement, but that's not a crime. I hope the extortion and blackmail attempt won't get lost in all the press of the "Letterman Affair". By the way, is this halderman of cbs related to the Halderman of the Nixon era?
