Last night was Latin night on “Dancing with the Stars,” a theme that the 13 couples who took the dance floor
seemed to have a good time with. But no matter how much fun everyone was having doing their salsas and rumbas, the night belonged to Mya, who received a perfect score from two of the judges.
Mya’s rumba received 10’s (the first of the season) from both Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Len Goodman on the other hand, was decidedly less impressed, giving Mya only 7 points for her efforts. According to Goodman, Mya’s dance had “too much going on.”
It didn’t matter. Mya’s score of 27 made her the highest-scorer of the night. We guess those candles and rose petals she’d decorated the rehearsal studio with paid off…although we actually don’t think she and partner Dmitry Chaplin need the help of any props to get them in the mood…those two are clearly hot for each other.
Natalie Coughlin and Alec Mazo were the second highest scorers of the night, performing an impressive rumba. Coughlin has discussed her shyness throughout the competition, and received tips from Alec’s wife Edyta Sliwinska on how to amp
up her sexiness factor. It worked. Natalie and Alec ended up scoring 26 points.
As for early favorite Kelly Osbourne, she and partner Louis Van Amstel
ended up with a solid 20 points. What Kelly lacks in natural grace, we think she makes up for with natural charm. She finished the routine by giving her partner a kiss and judge Bruno told her, “For me, you’re back.” [source]
