Stars Works Their Magic on the Dance Floor

From black cats on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" to being the dark horse on "Dancing with the Stars," Monday night, Melissa Joan Hart cast a spell on her dancing shoes and enchanted the judges with her Charleston, earning two 10s -- her first for the season.

Her partner, Mark Ballas, told "The Insider"'s Samantha Harris, "We had a little slow start. It takes people longer than others sometimes and I thought she blew it out the box tonight. And if she can maintain and stay comfortable and enjoying herself, I think she's really going to rise to the occasion."

Melissa was flattered by compliments backstage from her peers. She said, "It's so nice when the pros have things to say, like Derek [Hough] was over the moon for me and Anna [Demidova] said that by watching us she couldn't tell I wasn't a pro…I think she's lying, but that was so sweet of her."

The always wholesome Donny Osmond was grateful not to have been assigned the Lambada. He kept his Charleston routine G-rated because, he said, "my kids are out there." The entertainer put the power in partner Kym Johnson's hands to decide whether he takes his shirt off in a future performance this season.

Last season's favorite shirtless celeb, Gilles Marini, was in the audience Monday night with "Brothers and Sisters" co-star Rachel Griffiths. She told "The Insider," "The big news is he acts. We've seen the dancing. We've seen the shirt off...It's the acting that I think is really going to surprise people."

Michael Irvin heated things up on the dance floor with his Bolero number. He joked, "Only in America can you be out there with a beautiful woman on the floor, doing what you're doing with your beautiful wife in the front row and then she stands up and says, 'Good job!'"

Watch the video for more and don't forget to tune in Tuesday night to find out which couple will be sent home on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

  • I don't care what people think. Donny is the best dancer out there. Melissa was way overscored! It was Mark Ballas' choreography that gave her the 28, not her dancing. Melissa was good but not 28 good. How do you explain a person going from a 19...

  • Donny was fantastic was again. And was under scored. Melissa was way over scored. I don't know what Donny has to do to get the score he deserves. The judges have their favorites.
