Patricia Arquette Stunned By Weight Loss Request.... Patricia Arquette was outraged when she was asked to lose her baby weight for her role as psychic detective Allison DuBois in TV series Medium - because the character is a mother of three.

The True Romance star, sister of David and Rosanna Arquette, refused to slim for the motherly role, insisting the request simply didn't make sense.

She says, "When I started Medium I'd gained a stone and a half from having my daughter Harlow.

"The producer said, 'Honey, you've got to lose some weight.' I felt like saying, 'I don't want to do this job then,' because, to be honest with you, I'm trying to make little changes in the world.

"If it made any sense for this part - if this part was a supermodel or anorexic - then okay. But DuBois is a mother of three in a long-term marriage. It doesn't make sense".

  • That is a lot of baby-weight if you ask me. And you dont need to be fat just because you had 3 children. That is one hell of a pity excuse of not loosing weight.

    • She is not fat, she looks so good the way she is, nothing is wrong with her looks. She looks too good, has real healthy breasts and nice hips, like a real woman should have. Whoever says she is fat is just so jealous!!!! I mean come on, for all yall that say, I am concerned with her weight, NO you are not, that just means you are jealous of how good she truly looks. Hell I have to admit, I sometimes only look at her to admire her true natural beauty. She has the exact body I would love to have. Not everyone looks good but she knows how to carry her curves excellent!!!!!!!! You are right she does not need to be fat, and she is not you idiot!!!!! For one, having children changes your body and it effects females in different ways, obviously something you don't have prior knowledge of. The only thing that matters anyway, is that she is HAPPY and not anyone else. I like that she has personality, enough to fight back and not give in to the dumb media. She should be applauded if more females had the courage to stand up for what they believed than the media wouldn't have anorexic looking chicks. The media would then accept and look for the average curvatious woman. NBC is lucky to have you honey, good luck and keep up the good work.

  • People are so fixated on looks. The actor such as Patrica doe's seems to look the part of a wife and mother of three kids,She is a mother of two and she looked damn good.

  • I watched the episode dated 1-14-08 tonight and noticed her weight. As a mother of three myself, I thought it nothing... but was concerned. This is why I have sought out this site tonight... As long as it is only baby-weight - it's no big deal... I work out three times a week and am still trying to lose that baby weight and my youngest is 15 months!!! Leave her alone! She's beautiful and an amazing actress and should be allowed to be REAL!!!!! NO plastic sx, no crazy diets, just a REAL woman!!! I love, love, LOVE Medium!!! Don't -- PLEASE Don't -- ask her to be anything but herself!!!! I have loved Every movie she's been in and appreciated the reality (no weight reference!!!!) that is Patricia Arquette!!! Don't change a thing unless it makes YOU happy, girl!! We love you!
