Over the weekend, authorities dubbed the "Balloon Boy" incident a hoax; after it was discovered that six-year-old Falcon Heene, who was thought to be inside a flying Mylar balloon on Thursday, was found in the garage of his family's home.

The Heene family will voluntarily turn themselves in if charges are pressed for this alleged hoax. If convicted, the Heene family could face a maximum penalty of six years in prison and a fine of $500,000.

Social Services is investigating whether the three young boys are in a safe environment with their parents, Richard and Mayumi.

WE WANT TO KNOW: If the accusations are true, should the kids be taken away?

  • no they made a mistake but no one was hurt but if you take the kids away look at the damage you will do to them. They don't seem like they are abused or unhappy. Maybe you should be more concerned with kids like Baby Briana and other kids like that....

  • i definitly think the parents need to be on a supervised plan with child protective services IE making sure the kids go to school, family counseling ect and think charges should be filed against the parents BUT I dont think ripping apart a family...
