Steve Phillips -- former General Manager of the New York Mets -- has reportedly been fired from his job as a baseball analyst at ESPN, following reports that surfaced last week that Phillips had an affair with a female coworker.

A spokesperson for the cable network released the following statement to "The Insider": "[Phillips'] ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged, and it became evident it was time to part ways."

Phillips released a statement to "The Insider" on Thursday that he was taking a leave of absence following reports that he had become romantically involved with a female ESPN employee.

  • Its no surprise that ESPN fired Steve Phillips. His affair with Brooke Hundley should make every cheating man think twice about cheating with someone on his job. This is just one example of many things that can go wrong. See 20 Problems a Workplace Romance Can Cause at http://bit.ly/2HNUIV

The Steve Phillips Brooke Hundley affair should serve as a warning to every cheating husband how a disgruntled and out of control mistress can ruin his life.

The average cheating husband knows very little about his mistress. He is so eager to bed her that he never even bothers to check out her reputation, background, motives or temperament to see what kind of woman he is dealing with.

He has no idea what she is capable of doing if things don’t go her way. What he doesnt know about her could cost him his money, his marriage, his job, his reputation, even his life.

Asking himself the questions at http://bit.ly/ctOyK would give him 2nd thoughts about getting involved.

  • To the loser who said people like Philips should wear an "A" on his forehead; you sound like a lonely loser. Go back to the 1830's you toad.

  • Its about time these scumbag married men are held accountable for their actions. Whoever cheats in a marriage should wear the letter "A"like people did in the 1800's. Maybe people would have more respect for marriage. It is such a shame on both sides that cheat. It completely rips a whole family unit apart. No one has respect for marriages anymore. What a shame to married couples and it is immoral to God. Don't people believe they WILL MEET THEIR MAKER ONE DAY AND HE WILL JUDGE. Its all fun and games now for the adulterers who could care less who they hurt(mostly families/children)What is wrong with the world today?
