Report: Steve Phillips to Enter Treatment Facility

ESPN Analyst Steve Phillips Takes Leave of Absence After Reported Sex Scandal

A rep for former New York Mets General Manager Steve Phillips -- who was fired by ESPN on Sunday night -- has announced that Phillips is entering a treatment facility following reports that he had an affair with a female production assistant.

Phillips rep said the baseball analyst is going to the facility to "address his personal issues," the Associated Press reports.

Earlier today, a spokesperson for ESPN released the following statement to "The Insider": "[Phillips'] ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged, and it became evident it was time to part ways."

  • I think all these reporter are all full of it they all kick dirt on each other and report other news caster and TV star cheating habits.What really tacky they are doing the same thing so before they get ready to report a story on a news caster or a TV star or a congress person they should look in there own back yard. Oh by the way don`t even make a joke about it because it might just be one of them.

  • steve phillips, why the hell didnt you think of this before you did what you did to get firedl. if you are sick and need psychotherapy and medication, why did you not get both before you got to this place. well, you did not. a rehab clinic will not erase the damage you did. guess it will help you get to the bottom, but you will need to go there and start from scratch, but people are so sick of celebrities doing this and then "going to rehab" to forgive them of their sins" and then they do them again and again. please help us understand why this is not working for us humans out here.

  • i am so very sick of these people doing such irresponsible behavior and hurting others, etc etc, than stating boldly they are entering a treatment facility to save their ass and their name. sometimes i have great empathy for them, but this addiction is becoming overwhelming, and , in truth, this is all about, acting out, addiction wise, then going into rehab to try to take responsibility. this is a crock of crap.

    • this is a very very sick man and anyone who minimizes his illness, i am sorry for. i also am sorry for the fact that he and his family/friends think that "going into rehab" is like"going to confession" now, and it just is NOT. geez people, where does the line of demarkation end where people need to go to psychiatrists and people that are trained to give these sick people help. these people are in severe, severe denial. rehab is NOT a catharthis. people other than the narsassistic addict are hurt terribly, and the addict is hell and touch to rehab. this is a joke. dont buy it.
