Alicia Keys and Jay-Z to Open for the Yankees

Update: Alicia Keys and Jay-Z were scheduled to perform before Game 1 of the World Series, but will now perform before Game 2.

The superstars will sing their song "Empire State of Mind" off Jay-Z's album, The Blueprint 3, and then Alicia will sing the national anthem. Their performance was moved to Game 2 due to bad weather predicted for Wednesday, which could make for wet conditions that could make performing dangerous.

Jay-Z said of the performance, "As a die-hard Yankee fan, I’m honored to perform a song that celebrates the greatness of New York in one of our city's most important landmarks, Yankee Stadium."

Coverage of the face-off between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies will start on Thursday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m. EST on FOX.
