Insider Poll: Would Michael Jackson Approve of 'This Is It'?

'This Is It' opened to rave reviews and much fanfare, with audiences overwhelmingly impressed at the spectacular tribute to Michael Jackson in what was to be his final concert series.

Despite being hailed by critics and fans alike, some are saying the movie is cashing in on the singer's legacy -- and that the rehersal footage, never intended for theaters, is not what a well-known perfectionist like Michael would have wanted the world to see.

If here were alive, do you feel the King of Pop would have been protesting or celebrating the release of 'This Is It'?

Give us your thoughts in the comments below and take our poll to tell us: What side are you on?

  • MJ was a perfectionist, and so probably would not have wanted the movie released. However, I feel that it made us love Michael even more and provided some much needed closure. And how eerie that the song, with the same title as MJ's concert was found in the archives from all those years ago! Coincidence? I think not! Incredible timing that it was found at a time that it could be used with the film. It must have been divine intervention. You had so much more to offer this world, MJ. And I feel so sad for your children. I pray for them often. I love you Michael, and I miss you!

  • Michael would not approve for his work that not yet finish or meet his standard if he still here. Kenny made the film looks really good and present how genius of Michael and the way of THIS IS IT ..see "for the fans" Michael would approve it finally from heaven. His fans wanna get close to him and THIS IS IT is such a thing that can help us feel connect to him in theater. Michael would OK for that I wish.

  • Michael was a perfectionist. He would've wanted people to see the finished product, which 'This Is It' is not. But I really don't care. I think his fans really needed the closure.

  • I do not believe that Michael would have wanted this is it to come out like this. I have seen it. Rather jumpy and unorganized to be honest. Not to mention in a sense it a way of exploitation.I do believe that this "movie" shouldn't have been in the theaters. However I also believe that it was an attempt to collect money. Really thats what it mainly was about. I did think it was interesting to see though. However my answer is still NO. Michael would not have approved of this film/documentary. He for obvious reasons didn't have a say in it though which is unfortunate. People please remember him for his love and passion of almost all things and let it spread. His lessons of love can still go on and on if you just open your hearts to it. He was one of the most wonderful people in this world. I know that I will never ever forget him. Please stop exploiting him and let him rest.
