The Associated Press reports that Jon Genens also testified that a search warrant revealed that some of Smith's medical records were being held at the office of Dr. Kapoor's attorney.
Genens testified that the two sets of files found had slightly different information but the same dates, according to the AP.
The AP reports that Judge Robert J. Payne said that keeping information at his home could be perceived as "guilty knowledge."
Earlier Wednesday, Dr. James Gagne withdrew part of his testimony that Dr. Kapoor significantly increased the dosage of Smith's methadone doses, although he continued to testify that Dr. Kapoor gave the star excessive dosages of sedatives and opiates, according to the AP.
Genens' testimony was part of a preliminary hearing set to determine if Dr. Kapoor and two others should be tried for allegedly supplying Smith with drugs illegally. All three defendants have pleaded not guilty.
