Levi Johnston to Conan O'Brien: 'Apology Accepted'

"The Insider" was with Levi Johnston Thursday night as he watched "The Tonight Show" and heard host Conan O'Brien's personal apology for "misrepresenting him in any way" during a skit the night before. Read on for more...

 

Levi exclusively tells "The Insider": "I'm glad I gave him something to talk about on his show. Obviously it's good that I'm on there."

On Thursday's "Tonight Show," Conan said he'd woken up to "shocking news." "Apparently the tweets that we read were counterfeit," Conan said referring to the skit he did that used quotes from a Levi impersonator. "They were written by a clever impostor posing as the witty Levi Johnston. And the real Levi is very angry with us now."

He continued, "I'd like to personally apologize to Levi Johnston and his lawyer and publicist for misrepresenting him in any way."

Then, Conan proceeded to welcome back William Shatner to recite "some real, verified quotes from Levi Johnston" as spoken-word poetry.

Earlier Thursday, "The Insider" obtained a statement from Johnston's rep to Twitter claiming the 19-year-old was being impersonated on the social-networking site. Keep checking back here for more from Johnston as he prepares for his Playgirl photo shoot!

  • Your show downplays the fact that Levi Johnston is a publicity seeker, seeking celebrity status and making a name for himself -- it is so apparent! At the same time, making Sarah Palin look like some kind of monster and making a joke out of her. Sarah has the right to write a book and appear on a talk show, just like Levi did. Enough attacking this woman! It is so ridiculous already.

  • At the risk of stating the obvious, that was not an apology: it was Conan making Johnston look even more like the putz he is by faking an apology while getting a second chance to give his audience a chance to see the real quotes were even more vapid than the first.

  • Why is "The Insider" so hell-bent in giving Levi Johnston so much coverage? This young man is a bitter loser who couldn't make it with Sarah Palin's daughter and now he'll do anything to get and maintain his 15 minutes of fame. NOt to discredit "Playgirl" magazine but why would ANYONE believe ANYTHING that comes from the mouth of someone who plans to pose for this publication? Levi Johnston is a waste and the only thing he's managed to do half right is father a beautiful boy. Thankfully, Bristol and not he, will have custody of the baby. STOP GIVING THIS IDIOT LOSER so much coverage. He is a disgrace. YOU GO, SARAH PALIN!

    • Cool? what, Levi? do you really go for boys whose only accomplishments are having sex, bad mouthing the family of his son (uh, where is Levi's family? Oh, right, his mom..is she still in jail? and his dad? I guess he has to bad mouth publically somebody's family. And before Levi started earning money with his smirk and slanderous "maybe I will tells", how much child support and child care was he providing? cool? careful girl, you just might end up with one of these "cool" losers....
