Michael Jackson's father is trying to obtain an allowance from the late singer's estate.

"The Insider" has obtained court documents filed by an attorney for Joe Jackson in Los Angeles on Friday, in which the 81-year-old is seeking an allowance from his son's estate.

The papers state that Jackson "has been without support since the death of his son…," and "is in urgent need [of] funds to maintain his household."

Jackson's attorney also says in the document: "For reasons which [were] never explained, [the special administrators of Michael Jackson's estate] excluded Joseph Jackson from their petition although they knew that Michael Jackson had supported for many decades his father….”

The papers also state that Joe Jackson suffered a stroke in 1998, was hospitalized in 2004 for stomach ulcers and "was dependent upon the money provided by his son, Michael Jackson, through his wife, Katherine Jackson, for his support."

The AP reports that a judge has approved $26,000 in monthly payments to his mother and $60,000 monthly for the care of his children -- "Prince" Michael, Paris and "Blanket."

  • Evan Chandler, the father of 13 year-old Jordan Chandler who first accused MJ of molesting him in 1993, shoots himself in the head ending his paranoid delusions that MJ fans were after him. It was KARMA!

  • MJ was a great person but I do not think that he would want Joe to benefit from his earnings anymore. Especially since he abused MJ. I am sure he got enough money from MJ when he was younger. I do not think he is entitles to anything. They all want...

  • How about Joe cutting back like everyone else have to. He don't deserve Michael's money. Maybe they can give Joe one or two thousands. Not fourteen thousands. Next that daughter Joe had with another woman will be after money from MJ's estate.

    • I believe Michael supported his whole family. Except Janet. I'm not sure about Rebie. He did all this till he couldn't afford to do it anymore. Now Joe still has his hand out. I'm starting to understand Michael Jackson went through .

  • Good thing Kathrine is not in charge of the estate. She would give Joe an allowance so he could go and act like a 30 year old play boy.
