Nearly a year after the death of their 16-year-old son Jett, John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston say they are still struggling to cope with the tragedy.

"We've been working very hard every day as a family to heal," Travolta tells USA Today. Jett passed away in January after suffering from a seizure at the family's Grand Bahamas home. "We have our own way of doing it, and it has been helping."

Preston tells the newspaper their family has been receiving an "outpouring of love from, really, worldwide. It's been our friends, our family, our church. We partake in spiritual counseling pretty much daily."

The actress says that coping with Jett's death has been "a tricky thing. Sometimes, something that's right for the moment is not right the next day. Being with people who are important to you, being with people that you love, I think that's what has primarily helped us the most. Sometimes, being alone, too."

Travolta and Preston's 9-year-old daughter Ella Bleu is appearing in her first feature-film alongside her famous parents. 'Old Dogs' hits theaters on November 25.
