DNA tests reveal two more children for deceased James Brown

Eight months after the death of music legend James Brown, a dozen people were DNA tested in hopes of declaring the singer their father. While many of the tests have come back negative and a few are still pending, two people have found out that they are indeed the children of The Godfather of Soul.

Buddy Dallas, James' longtime adviser, refused to disclose the identity of either person. However, a 45-year-old retired flight attendant/teacher from Houston named LaRhonda Petitt has been identified as one of those tested  by The Augusta Chronicle.  LaRhonda reportedly showed the paper her forms declaring that there is a 99.99 percent probability of her being James' daughter. With this information, LaRhonda would be the eldest child of the late singer.

She says her mother dated James in the early 1960's after he picked her from the crowd at one of his shows in Los Angeles. When LaRhonda's mother became pregnant, she reportedly split with the singer and moved back to Houston. LaRhonda says she spoke with and met James at concerts, but he never acknowledged being her father. She told the paper,

I was angry that he was out there making all this money, and he wasn't doing anything for my mother and me. I could have had a better life.

Brown's will has been disputed in court since his death on Christmas day of last year.  It lists the late singer as having six children, even excluding the young boy named James Brown Jr. who lived with him at the time of his illness and eventual death. James Jr's mother, Tomi Rae Hynie, says she was married to James at the time of his death, but cannot legally prove it.  She has yet to submit James Jr. for DNA testing.
