Kellan Lutz plays the sexy Cullen brother Emmett in the 'Twilight' film series, but he says he had the opportunity to have Robert Pattinson's lead role as Edward Cullen.

Kellan talked to Ryan Seacrest hours before the Los Angeles premiere of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' and revealed on the radio show that he turned down the opportunity to audition for the lead vampire. The actor says of the wildly popular role, "I just said, 'I don't want to play Edward. He's too complex. He's too depressing for me.'"

"Fame is fame and Rob is handling it like a champ," Kellan said of turning down the part.

As for whether he's attracted to 'Twilight' leading lady Kristen Stewart, Kellan admits, "I would love to kiss her." Catch the Cullen clan in 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' when they return to theaters this Friday, Nov. 20.
