Kelly Clarkson took notice of the "Idol" presence at the awards show. She told "The Insider"'s Samantha Harris, "It's kind of like a class reunion."
She was joined by fellow winners Kris Allen and Carrie Underwood, along with runner-up Adam Lambert and finalist Chris Daughtry. Lambert took the stage to perform his single "For Your Entertainment" off his debut solo album.
Another Simon Cowell protégé, Leona Lewis, was on hand to present the award for best female country artist. She could not pick just one performance she was looking forward to taking in. She said, "It's such a rounded musical event, it's really great to see all of the different music categories."
It was also a night of tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who won multiple awards posthumously. His brother, Jermaine Jackson, accepted them on his behalf. Alicia Keys told "The Insider," "Since we've lost him, I think that we really recognize how much we should have celebrated him even more."
"The Insider" spoke to many more of music's biggest stars, such as Mary J. Blige and Reba McEntire. Watch the video to see who hit the right notes and who was a bit off key in their fashion.
