Boyle took the world by storm when she first appeared on the U.K. show "Britain's Got Talent" where she sang a moving rendition of Les Misérables' "I Dreamed a Dream." She compares her life now to her first televised performance, saying, "I've grown up a bit. I've become sort of a lady."
Boyle's new album had the biggest CD pre-order sale that Amazon has ever seen. "It feels very surreal as if it's not really happening," the singer says of her fame.
On her album, Boyle recorded a cover of Madonna's song "You'll See." She says the track is dedicated to those who were mean to her in the past. "That was a statement I was trying to make because I was bullied a lot at school," she tells Lauer. "You may have been able to do that to me when I was young but you can't do that to me today."
Lauer's entire interview with Boyle will air on Thanksgiving Day during NBC's People of Year special.

" This doctor’s office, waiting room version of you’ll see is vomit inducing. Sincerely. I thought Susan Boyle was at least an OK singer. She shows no range here. Totally flat. No emotion. Listening to this cover you realize how rich Madonna’s voice can be thanks to its interpretive power. In Madonna’s version, she sounds vulnerable and terribly sad, but at the same time strong and optimistic; yes, I am serious, Madonna can pack all these emotions (and I would add a hint of sexiness too…) "
