Kate was disappointed at the ending of the show, saying, "This is a very bittersweet goodbye for me, because I think the kids are already missing it."
The couple commented separately on the breakdown of their marriage.
Jon said, "I just did kids my whole twenties. Our marriage fell apart and I felt like I was free." He said that since he got married at 22, maybe he reverted to 23 after the break-up between he and Kate.
While Jon said, "We're definitely not going to be married ever again," Kate said, "It always crosses my mind that I should be in the passenger seat and Jon should be driving, every single time. ... I never wanted him absent from that driver's seat."
Despite their divorce, both parents expressed a desire to work together for the sake of their kids.
Kate said that she didn't intend to say negative things about Jon: "I don't want them to remember me tearing their father apart, who they love."
She also pointed out, "They love him and they need to see him but my goal has really been to remain neutral, state the facts, not say negative things about him, and just... it is what it is. He's still their dad and I will never discourage them from being with him."
In the end, Kate had fond memories of the show, saying, "It's sad, it's cut short, it's too soon and it's been a great run. I'm very grateful for the opportunity, for the memories, for the memories on tape.
During the finale, Jon took the sextuplets to a fire station where they sold lemonade to raise funds for firefighters, while Kate also took the six youngest kids on an outing -- for a hay ride and a visit to a nearby farm.

a while now.
The kids will have to spend less time with Kate now because of no filming exploitation, school and share time between the parents. These kids will be much better off with LESS KATE CONTACT.
