Tareq called the accusations of them crashing the White House the "most devastating thing that has ever happened to us." The couple maintains their innocence. "I can tell you that we did not party crash the White House," said the husband.
Michaele said, "There isn't anyone who would have the audacity or the poor behavior to do that. The White House is 'the house' and no one would do that and certainly not us." She said she is "devastated" by the allegations.
The couple said they have been cooperating with the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Secret Service. Tareq said, "We're respecting their timeline. We want to get through that process. We've been very candid with them. We've turned over documentation to them."
He is confident that after their meetings with authorities that "we will be completely exonerated." The Salahi's appeared on the "Today Show" via satellite from Washington, D.C. They promised to travel to the New York studio to share more details and documents with Lauer as soon as they are able to make the trip.
