Susan Boyle is the new queen of pop! The 47-year-old overnight singing sensation has beat out the likes of Beyonce and Taylor Swift in first week sales of her new album, making her record the best-selling album debut by a woman.

Boyle -- who grabbed the world's attention after her performance on "Britain's Got Talent" went viral -- debuted at No. 1 on the album charts with her first album I Dreamed a Dream selling just over 700,000 copies, the Associated Press reports. According to her label, Columbia Records, these are also the best first week sales of 2009.

Another talent show contestant, "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert, also topped the charts. His debut album For Your Entertainment came in at No. 3 on the album charts, selling 198,469 copies.
