Sean Penn Charged with Battery, Vandalism

Sean Penn is facing misdemeanor charges of battery and vandalism.

The star will be arraigned March 22 on the two charges, Los Angeles city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan told the Associated Press on Friday.

Mateljan said that Penn allegedly kicked a photographer in October 2009, and also allegedly damaged the photographer's camera.

The AP says Penn could be facing up to 18 months in jail if convicted.
