Norway is concerned that its national animal, the moose, is harming the climate by emitting an estimated 2,100 kilos of carbon dioxide a year through its belching and farting. Bacteria in a moose's stomach create methane gas which is considered even more destructive to the environment than carbon dioxide gas. Cows pose the same problem .
Now some intelligent person may wonder: if moose, cows, zebra, elephants, etc have been around for at least a few million years, like us humans, then why is it that these creatures only now are melting the ice caps? And, even if they were causing global warming, what could be done about it? I guess liberal logic would call for wholesale extermination of all farting and belching wildlife in order to save the icecaps. Hello!
Read all about moose at http://www.mooseworld.com/ You can even buy moose boxer shorts for men and all sorts of moose items. And there's the moose wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moose Males weigh on average over 550 kg (1200 lbs) and females often more than 400 kg (900 lbs). What does a moose fart sound like anyway?
Across the globe there are estimated to be over 2 million moose with the highest numbers in Canada, Russia, United States and Sweden. Population estimates carried out in the late 1990s include
830,000 Canadian moose !!!
435,000 Russian moose !!!
255,000 American moose !!
200,000 Swedish moose !!
125,000 Norwegian moose !
90,000 Finnish moose !
That's 1,935,000 moose. That's 4,063,500,00 kilos of carbon dioxide per year!
That's equal to more than 25 billion kilometers of car polution per year! Just think we could wipe out the moose and we could continue to drive our SUV's. How's that for a carbon credit trade-off?
Moose were plentiful in the forests of Europe up through the middle ages. Did those Europeans know about moose farts way back then?
Thanks to looney Al Gore and the Hollywood fools who bought into his snake oil religion and gave him an award for his so-called documentary movie. Hello world. Engage brains. Please.
