Frustrated that their dogged addictions to crack and heroin have yet to make them die, Amy Winehouse and husband Blake Fielder-Civil are now taking a more direct approach: Beating each other bloody.

The fight in the early hours of yesterday left 23-year-old Miss Winehouse with blood staining her pink ballet shoes and the knees of her jeans.

But her 24-year-old husband appeared to have come off a lot worse - with cuts and scratches on both cheeks and around his neck.

Seen later walking together arm-in-arm, Amy and Blake had clearly kissed and made up as they put on a public display of affection in Soho in the early hours of today.

Young, summer love truly is one of the best things in the world, huh?
