There's only one sure way to know what styles are cool - check out what the young folks are doing. Especially the young, famous folks. Here's what the youthful celeb set thinks is in:

Geek chic. Superbad's Michael Cera makes it okay to look like you're headed to Debate Club. It doesn't hurt that he gives off a Beck vibe too.

Short shorts. Hayden Panettiere likes prancing around L.A. showing every inch of those just-turned-18 legs. Be careful if you're scrawny though - you don't want people thinking you're Amy
Winehouse.

Hat-head. As in, what Zac Efron always looks like he has. Nobody hotter than Zac right now - so drag out that hat your grandma knitted you for Christmas and shape that mop.

Crutches. Okay, it's a lame junior-high stunt - but that hasn't stopped Rihanna and Joss Stone from trying it. Must be cool if those girls are doing it, right?
