Ne-Yo Speaks Out About Britney Spears
Ne-Yo, who apparently writes hits, wrote a bunch of songs for Britney Spears and was going to help her get back. Britney, however, never returned any calls or said if she wanted his songs. So Ne-Yo sold his hits to Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Damn! Britney lost “Umbrella” to Rihanna, the chick with the world’s biggest forehead, and then lost songs to a freaking Pussycat Doll? I didn’t think she could get that low. Ne-Yo is now talking about what happened between them.

“I have no idea what’s going on with Britney Spears. The last thing I heard is that Britney was mad at me over some songs that were supposed to go to her, but wound up going toNicole Scherzinger (of Pussycat Dolls).

I was working with Britney Spears’ people. I wrote 6 to 8 songs for Britney Spears. Then Britney goes ahead and shaves her head, goes into rehab and when that happened I lost all contact with her A&R people, with her label. I was calling them, they weren’t answering my calls. So in the process of all that going on, that’s when I met Nicole Scherzinger. I played her two songs, she loved them, they cut the check and she recorded the songs. So when that happened that’s when Britney’s people called and said ‘ why are you giving away Britney’s songs’ and I say ‘uh, hold on..y’all didn’t cut me a check’”

I don’t really listen to this kind of crappy music so I can’t say whether or not Ne-Yo is talented, but I can tell you he’s business savvy. Passing up on Britney Spears these days always seems like the smartest move, no matter what. So for that, I give him credit. Selling to Nicole Scherzinger, however, was kind of lame. Cause when I hear her name, I’m like, Nicole Scwho? But hey, I guess he had to sell. A dogs gotta eat, player.
