Richard Gere and Charlize Theron Diss Bush at the Venice Film Festival

During promotion of Gere's most recent film, "The Hunting Party," the actor decided to wax political while chatting up his movie on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. During a chat with the press, Gere asked, "How did we elect Bush twice?" Additionally, Charlize Theron, who was at the festival for her film, "The Valley of Elah," and spoke out about the current president during an interview with the Associated Press.

"The decision-making process for going into Iraq was very hastily done, and I think the facts weren't there, and I just don't think you go to war for those reasons."
Both actors were in films dealing with the issue of war and felt compelled to relate their films to the tone of the current administration. Wow. That almost felt like I was crossing the line into actual journalism for a second there. Let me fix this by saying, "And hey, isn't her dress pretty?"
