Scott Baio Is 45 … and About to Have a Daughter

“All my life I had wanted a son,” said Baio, who is busy building a nursery and filming the second season of his VH1 reality show Scott Baio is 45… and Single. “Of course we are getting a girl. It wasn’t disappointing, but it was just something to adjust to because I had been 100 percent sure we were having a boy.”

The once-notorious Hollywood ladies man also says: “It’s just like that great Rolling Stones song, you don’t get what you want, you get what you need. I needed to have a girl. It may be cosmic payback a little bit, but it needed to happen.”

For her part, Sloane, who also has an 18-year-old daughter, has no fear that Baio might return to his old ways, which in the past has led to couplings with a number of actresses including Heather Locklear and Denise Richards.

“I am 100 percent not worried about him,” says Sloane, who is due in early December. “I would rather be with a guy who has sowed all of his wild oats with a lot of people and know that he is ready. He has been there and done that, and this man is ready for a different chapter in a whole entirely different book.”
