After last month’s suicide attempt, Wilson dropped out of pal Ben Stiller’s movie, Tropic Thunder. The movie is currently filming in Hawaii, and while Owen has returned home from the hospital, it doesn’t look like he’s ready to do the acting thing just yet.
McConaughey is on board, stepping in for Wilson and joining a cast that includes Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Bill Hader, Nick Nolte and Steve Coogan. You may recall that Courtney Love accused Steve Coogan of getting Owen into the drugs/suicide mess. And while we’re not sure we believe anything that Courtney says, we have to think Owen can’t be completely responsible for his mini detour from what appears to be a great life.
Can McConaughey fill Owen’s shoes for the film? Matthew McC is nice eye candy, but no one makes us laugh like Owen!
