  • Melodicrock.com did not report that Arnel Pineda will be named the new lead singer of Journey. The quote from melodicrock.com is as follows:

"And is this the 2008 line-up of Journey? The man in the middle is Philippine vocalist Arnel Pineda (of Asian rock band The Zoo). If you believe the word out there, the deal is done and an announcement will follow in due course."

Nothing has been officialy yet by Journey.

  • What are you talking about "anonymous"? Journey HAD a damn good singer...............it was Steve Perry. They are just "Journey Light" w/o him. Augeri is a fabulous entertainer and I saw many of their concerts w/him. I was at the concert the night Soto joined up with them in VA. and I didn't even finish the evening. He was not "Journey" material. If on the big ego could do whatever is needed to bring back the "only" voice of Journey.....if

  • Oh come on. Andrew at MelodicRock.com has posted over and over on the forums that it's a done deal. Thanks be to God. Anonymous you're right. This is the best thing Journey has done in years. Arnel isn't just a good singer, he's a totally fantastic singer. Steve Perry was amazing and a talent like no other. Arnel is right up there just under Perry. As he gets to sing with a pro band, he might just join Perry on that pedestal as one of rock's greatest voices. Watch and see. And I always thought lightning didn't strike twice!

Bravo Journey. You finally did something right.

Bravo Arnel. You deserve this! You're one hell of a guy.

  • That is the worst band backing up Arnel I have ever heard! which makes Arnel a hack by association.

  • hard sell to the purist, that i would agree. but there are only a few of them, and most have already declared war to journey so what difference does it make? however, most fans just want to re-create the magic of days gone by, and ARNEL has a mass follower now ready to explode.

  • Kevin Chalfant should be the new frontman. He already has a relationship with the band and has performed with them before. Journey is missing a great oppurtunity here, but Arnel is extremely talented so I'll give him a chance.

  • hmm.. good as he is i dont think arnel will be able to bring the magic that perry has done for journey.. arnel is quite a talent, i heard him sing Heart's "what about love" while running and jumping around the stage .. but nobody will be able to fill the void that perry has left in journeys line up... hopefully arnel gets the job just so that we see what happens next

  • who said that the guy from Kilkin music
"Dave Sings Journey" on myspace should get the job??? Go and listen to it. That guy recorded in a studio and doesn't hold a candle to Arnel. Sorry dude, he is ok but He is not in the same league as a Steve Perry vocal range.
I think Arnel will pull it off nicely with Journey!

  • I really liked the vocals of both Augeri and Jeff Soto. Both were great frontmen. I did check about a comment mentioned of a concert in South American with Arnel as the new lead singer and it is no where to be found because Jouney is touring US startingin mid January. I know Journey will make the right choice and down the road the true fans will be with them because they are the most talented band out there on the face of the earth. So get ready to Journey on.

  • I’ve been a Journey fan since the Escape (E5C4P3) Album, yeah that’s right album, not CD, that just gives you an idea how much of an old school or ol’ fart I am.

I was fortunate enough too to witness the “Frontiers” concert. They rocked, Steve Perry’s voice was insane, Neal just rippin’ his ax like a mad child, and the one I watched and listened the most was Steve Smith on drums. The guy got mad beats. He was one of the better drummers back in the day next to Neil Peart from Rush. Another good drummer is the one guy from the Police. Sorry Alex, although Van Halen is may favorite band of the 80’s, your drumming was just okay. Alex used a beat box a lot. During his drum solo’s, when the lights would flicker you knew that box would kick in. For everytime he hit the drum, an electronic beat would follow. A cheater in a way. But he fooled the crowed (even up to now he does the same thing).

Back to the subject…Journey will always be my top 3 bands from the 80’s (Van Halen #1 & Foreigner #3), we are all getting older, if getting Arnel is what it takes to make Journey a premire band again. Do it! Neil S. & Jonathan C. are great musicians, there is a reason they picked Arnel. Let’s all just wait and see and hope they made the best choices to put themselves back on #1 Billboard.

All of a sudden, I have the urge to look for that baseball concert jersey of the Alien (Frontier Tour). HA HA HA

  • Please. This guy is nowhere near Steve Perry. Neal Schon, while a great musician, needs to get his head on straight. Call THE SINGER, THE VOICE, and get him back. THAT I would pay to see. They need to quit propping up wannabes in front of the band. Anyone who knows Journey's history remembers that the band had 3 albums BEFORE Steve arrived and they went nowhere. The band took off when he arrived and died when he left. Figure it out.

  • The Journey back then is not the Journey now!!! They have made great HITS in the past with Steve Perry...yeah man! But Steve have made a name for himself so why share the pie with the Journey if he can have it all, RIGHT? What I'm trying to say is... if you like Perry then make sure you keep supporting him by buying his products(ie: cds, dvd, concerts and more) and don't look forward to see the original band together again. You guys have to move forward, it is nice to reminisce the past but you have to moved on and so as the JOURNEY and Steve Perry. As for Arnel, You are no Perry and you said it yourself but doug, maann...listening to all those youtube songs you have, not to mention that you were performing live for 6 hours straight every freaking day and still have the VOICE singing all those crazy songs...F@@CKing AMAZING!!!
Well I am looking forward to see your concert and hoping that JOURNEY will write and compose songs suited for your vocal style.

Arnel is the present, and looking at things, the future of JOURNEY. Lets give not just Arnel but the entire band the chance to prove to us that they are one of the bests bands in this lifetime.

I came across Arnel Pineda's YouTube clips recently, even before hearing about his joining Journey. I was impressed. Let's give this guy a chance. I'm proud of being a Filipino in America.

This also will hopefully lessen the racism that still exist in America.

  • I am 48 and saw my first Journey concert in 1976 at Winterland in SF. I saw them open for LynyrdSkynrd on New years eve 1976 at The Oakland Coliseum. This was BP (before perry). They were awesome then, and became superstars with Perry. This new singer Arnel will continue the greatness of this awesome band. I am looking forward to a tour in the SF bay area. Great news for true fans. If you have a problem with his race, you are an IDIOT. Go Journey! Happy New Year!

  • Whether or not Arnel is the new "Voice" for Journey is yet to be seen (although, after hearing Arnel and his range I have no doubts he is) Neal Schon and the band have made a very ingenious move. Just look at all the talk this has created. From old and new generations, believers and nonbelievers, true fans and flippers, and even that race and this race. From a marketing point - not a bad move. From a musical point this continues the great tradition of rock-and-roll. Turn up the volume and shake things up!
Good luck and God bless us all.

  • Whoever is going to produce a concert in the Philippines will be an instant millionaire. Journey is all about Steve Perry's voice. Imagine Elton John or Bon Jovi singing Journey's songs, and you've got the picture. The new frontman is talented enough to sing any high pitched songs. Will take it from there.

  • Why are we being so mean to this New Guy Arnel why just because he is not white or because he is just an Asian. You think only white or black can only sing. There are lots of good and talented singers in Asian but the problem is the North American never give them a good break or chance in the Music industry. So whether he is not Steve Perry the guy can really sing i heard him singing in you tube. Ok anyone who are always disaggree are the one who can not sings. by the way iam a white guy and i am from Europe. I think we European are more open to accept other culture compare to North American.

Someone should tell Schon/Cain to get off their egos and make nice with Augeri. Let the man write and sing new stuff Arrival was one of the best Journey Albums. It's bad enough to not have Perry and Augeri but I'm tired of being told to "close my eyes, he sounds just like Perry".. It's not gonna fly this time boys sorry.

But when I heard what are these noise..CURIOUSITY struck. It really hit me. I am not a fan of the band "Journey", but reviewed to listen the music you rave/rant about. Man, got really the dig... not only dig but hand-foist what one's ear had heard before and what is now. All have the GOOD TASTE. But for my point of my musical ear, I felt not only the TASTE but also the exotic AROMA from the east. Tell me... the youtube uploads are very RAW. Now, they are cooking that started 5 dec on their "finest chiefs" to serve to everyones' palate going to your "tasteful" buds ear. Come to think of it... MAN that guy christened ARNEL sounded good RAW in youtube (they said amazing)...those journey dudes tasted it EXCELLENT what they are cooking for now..Man I can't wait these serve to its refinement with Arnel spice. I am now new one of the fans.

  • The Philippines being a Latinized Asian nation, you can just speculate Arnel's would-be impact in the East where I heard they pack their gigs in Hongkong, a place noted for it's being a melting pot with a high concentration of European expats and also South America where the Latinos might just be curious enough when they learn his last name is Pineda, a Spanish surname. I can just see this band's fanbase expanding overseas no matter how much flak it gets from it's detractors which sad to say, are coming mostly from it's home turf which is the US.

  • It is about damn time to give the Asians a chance. And I am talking about, Asian in general, Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Filipnos and so on. I am a journey fan, and I love Steve Perry and the group. We all know Arnel will never replace Steve Perry. But Arnel voice, the power, the tone, and the range is fantastic. Majority of Journey Fans are not happy with Arnel because he is an Asian. I believe if the replacement was Caucasian we will not even have this conversation. I wish people will just embrace the diversity and stop being so negative. What century are we in now? Life is too short and why not enjoy it. Give Arnel a chance and we will see. I am actually going to see the concert in March 2008 "viva las vegas". We already put a reservation on tickets. So folks better get in line and get your tickets. I had never been on Journey's concert, but I've watched their videos. For those who are not happy about the new Lead Singer, please give him a chance and give the whole group a chance. Oh by the way, isn't Steve Perry's parents are originally from Portugese? CIAO from Kent WA.

  • We are living in a very sad world. Racism does exist, especially in United States. I was reading on some of the comments (not from this web from other websites) how they were making fun of Arnel Pineda, the way he was singing the words. Do they even know this guy? How can you judge someone when you don't even know the person. There was one comment quote "he sang the song, but does he even know what the words meant? How hurtful. For your information, Filipino people speak far better English than other Asian country. Of course he knows what the words meant. You do not expect him to be "Fluent in English" when he probably speaks more than one languages. Why is it everyone getting so wound up about this whole thing. It is amazing how some people can be so brutal. Why not just sit down, relax, and let the audience to be the judge. And really if he failed or succeed, would it really affects are daily lives? Probably not. I just wish people will just be happy and give him a fair chance.

  • If Journey plays its cards right, this is not going to be a hard thing to sell. Santana is still Santana with about 11 different singers/bands. The idea of filling Perry´s shoes should not be approached. There´s plenty of new roads to cover and they should move on instead of trying to relive the past. Arnel has plenty to give without Perry´s ghost lurking around. If they see it, Journey will go Global.

  • First and foremost STEVE PERRY HAS MOVED ON WITH HIS LIFE AND HAD BEEN OUT OF JOUORNEYS SHADOW FOR A LONG TIME NOW. Perry will never come back ever and he damned well know it. For the fans, how would they like to see him sing with pitchLESS highs but only offer from medium to lo range. What would be the fans reaction if this came about when he sing OPEN ARMS. Will the fans be disappointed or maybe kind of feel sorry for Steve for losing his voice due to old age. For the OLD fans WAKE TFU! JOURNEYS MUSIC IS UNIVERSAL. These musicians are NOT racist in anyway shape or form. Their main job is to ENTERTAIN their fans/people the world over.So what if they drafted a guy from the Philippines.
The NBA drafted a few chinese basketball players. So what difference does it make if this guy is a wrong color as long as he can do the job. IMHO I have always wanted to see Tom Jones sing Journey songs. That will be the day... oh well. Last thing my last words, If any fans out there old or new DO NOT RESPECT this musicians decisions how to run their business, They are truly NO Journeys fans all along. Its a lot like being married and not trusting your spouse. Good Luck to the new band. What goes around, comes around.

I'm the 80's man love's listening old rock songs, from Foreingner, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, etc. and of course #1 JOURNEY.

  • This was posted via YouTube ndgomez777 (source of the above .avi file) a close friend of Arnel.
The comment is in 5 uploads which states: "a great quote from Producer Kevin Shirley about their recent recording sessions: "Neal and Jon called me and asked me in November to check out a couple of new songs, for an upcoming and possible project with Journey. I went to San Francisco to assess the new Journey and check out the material. I am so swamped, have a new baby and I did not want to be involved if it wasn't focused and great. I thought I'd be there for 2 days. First, I was stunned at Arnel, who is a monster vocalist.
He is the real deal. Just phenomenal. Its true Neal found him on YouTube.
Next I heard the songs. I am always in awe of Jonathan Cain as songwriter/producer and together with Neal Schon, who adds the rock element, they are one of the great songwriting partnerships. Its true they don't always see eye to eye musically, but the combination is magic. We spent a while talking and seeing where they were at.
I have been brutally honest with them, and was not interested in being any part of them being a nostalgia/tribute band, which could happen if their focus got lost. Some of the songs were lacking direction which I, as an outspoken and brutal outsider, immediately pointed out and set about repairing. So I cut a couple of tracks and with all the out of the way, you have to hear them ignore their egos and me, and just play as Journey. All together in the studio. What a privilege to see all 5 of them playing together. They are fantastic.
I am always cogniscent of the space Perry and Smith occupy in the sound and legacy, and won't let that be underplayed, and Deen and Arnel are brilliant musicians, and with a little focus the entire band has found their place again. This is stronger than Trial By Fire and sounds like Journey, but state-of-the-art. People always talk up upcoming material, but just wait. Its unbelievable.
There's a full album of new material coming, but much more, too. Don't believe all you read - there is no one else but the band in the studio to hear the music (although we do have a Make-A-Wish kid coming in soon).
And that's the dirt from Las Vegas, where I am mixing seven new original songs. I head back to San Francisco after a quick visit to London, to see the Led Zep reunion, to finish off where we began. I can't wait, and you are going to love it!".....
MAKE your comments out of it. Good review from Chile gig on February will make the difference. I am only a new fan.

  • Arnel is phenomenal and I can't stop watching his videos. He can do the Perry songs justice without having to be a carbon copy.
I wish people would let Perry RIP (Retire in Peace) I doubt (if he were to perform now) he could live up to the pedestal everyone has put him on when he was in his prime.

Beside Arnel's obvious talent, he is a great person. He has been through a lot in life and his soul and passion comes through in the music he is singing. I admire him tremendously.

    Come to Seattle!!!

  • I am not an avid fan of the group Journey, but I love their songs especially Open Arms and Faithfully. I thought this group has already vanished to thin air until recently, Ren, my honey asked me to listen to Arnel Pineda with his rendition of Faithfully by the Journey. Gosh, he really sounded like the man, Steve Perry! When my honey informed me that he's the new lead vocal of the Journey, I feel so proud to be a Filipino! It's just very unfortunate that there are people who cannot accept the fact that he's so damn good for an Asian and a Filipino at that! Come on, guys, Arnel is no different from you. If you think you have the right to be somebody, so is he. A big break came his way he just grabbed it, thus, do not take his being Asian or Filipino against him. He has the talent and the attitude to make it big, so just let him be...wish him the best of luck instead of putting him down. To you, Arnel, show the world how great singers/entertainers Filipinos are! Godbless you!

rock on,arnel! we, as filipinos, are so proud of you!! we are behind you 101% with or without those miserable ones. they should learn to take the fact that you are who you are now and nothing will ever change that. i wish some people have the minds that of neal schon's--racially unprejudiced!

  • Let us find logic. This guy was selected by Journey. Should you be a fan of this band or not...this guy has the voice. Steve Perry got his fame and time. Identical to Perry or not...this Arnel has his own signature. Should you patronize him or not...I think he got a following. Wait then, the album is still not released but already creating a noise. His first exposure will judge itself. Looking forward to hear this guy.

  • CAN ANYBODY GET IT??? TALENT WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT AVAILABLE IN THE USA OR EUROPE SO THEY HAD TO LOOK ELSEWHERE. AND YOU ALL KNOW WHAT, THEY FOUND ONE AND HIS NAME IS ARNEL PINEDA. IN ANY CASE, WHY IS IT THAT EVERYONE IS SO NEGATIVE INSTEAD OF LOOKING AT THIS WHOLE THING AS SOMETHING POSITIVE AND GOOD. LET THIS GUY SING, LET JOURNEY DO WHAT IT WANTS TO DO AND THEN, ALL YOUR "EXPERT" OPINIONS CAN COME AFTER THEY RELEASE THEIR FIRST CD OR CONCERT. TILL THEN, SAVE YOUR SPIT AND QUIT THE NEGATIVE STUFF.
    anonymous anonymous 1/24/08 Reply

  • here we go again, curly, hundsinker did not sign cos the financial contract did not meet his expectation. family issue only an excuse to buy greed out of play. and mighty schon had to downplay the whole scenario to with hold public exposure.
you need to read between the lines...you flips are so gullible and illiterate. no wonder your country is the poorest in asia. and thats the truth! you sell your own women overseas as domestic helpers but the reality of the fact is not what they do. well i guess its not all that bad considering the world need somebody to pick up the dirty work. Sooooooooo SAD........oh well thats life!Like what your singer says in his video, " HAPPENS!!!". HAVE YOU HAD YOUR COFFEE YET??????

  • If that is not a racist remark, I would not know what else that would be!!! Who really gives a about why this Handjacker or whatever his name is did not sign with Journey. The fact still remains that he is not singing. But for you to say something derogatory about a specific group of people is not only unacceptable but also shows how mal-educated you are. You might want to wake up and look around your own world and see exactly the same that you are talking about. You are no better than anyone, and your world ain't no better than anybodys'. In fact, I would not mind picking up just so I can flu down your throat!!! You are the type of person who do not deserve to be around. It's no wonder why Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain are so eager to jumpstart Journey with this new guy. These guys are real genius for choosing him, just the right guy to keep our never ending romance with their great rock songs and power ballads to continue.

The plan consist of a team of qualified professionals auditing poverty-stricken countries around the globe. As I recallthis group is named, the Internationa/or Foreign Social Services Enforcement Agency, much like Interpol. They gonna do away with the donation services since all the money may not be going there 100%! Be advised and listen. I just gave y'all a heads up piece of my mind. • Truly, we’ve all gone too far. Reading all of your comments instilled a heavy pain in my heart. I know many of you feel that same strangeness after having read all the bull. It is so strange that we take no responsibility for our stupid actions and hurtful words. We insist that we’re just a bunch of strangers in here BUT we’re quick to make presumptuous comments and insults anyway…like we personally know one another. I don’t know anything about any of you except for the mere fact that you’re here for the same reason of finding more info about the new Journey. So would it be so much trouble to drop the malicious attacks and find our way back to the music? Is it really so much to ask?

Please no more mention of race, pride, color, ego, illiteracy, death threats, starvation, insanity, medication, punishment and God.

Come the f*&% on, people! God?! We none of us know what each other is thinking or feeling but we know what God would think, feel and do? I don’t think so. So let’s end it here. NOW.

So if anyone would care to comment on what they’ve just seen and heard (live in Chile, Vegas or on YouTube) then great! You can like it, dislike it or not care at all. So long as it’s about what you saw, heard and experienced. Personally, watching Journey play “Faithfully” in Chile was a goosey-bumpy kind of experience. In short, I was blown away. I enjoyed watching the audience react to the band, to Arnel belting. He does have a certain something, a certain timbre. I watched the band react to him, too. I wonder if they feel the same excitement about the new member as I do….

  • I recently discovered this new singer of Journey while looking for the groups videos on YouTube to play while working (I'm an editor). It was when I learned of Mr Pineda. Wowwww! Bloody wowww! Ayyeee! I listened to him amd broke out in goosebumps especially when I heard him sing Faithfully...my all time favouite by the group. He's bloody, unbelievably talent...Go For it Arnel! You deserve it! I haven't been able to get enough since I learned about your becoming the frontman for Jouney!

As for the racist pig Mr. Inspector(huhm calling him a pig is an insult...to the pig!) the world is now a global community, so what if the new frontman of Journey is a Filipino? It's talent that matters and this chap's got it in spades...so get with the program or crawl back under the slimy rock from when you came...

  • Mr. Inspector, the world is so big to live life 'small'. Just always look on the bright side of life. Don't be such a 'small' thinker...think BIG. Dwell on the positive side of things. Remember the Coke jingle?, "I'd like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony)."
    anonymous anonymous 3/30/08 Reply

  • No need to think big. So far ain't got any complaints. Its your ruling party thats thinking "small" by forcing your starving children to dig through the stinking garbage dumped into the landfills! Again, I supposed that makes y'all very PROUD of yourselves!!!

*** I AM PROUD TO BE FILIPINO *** my a##!!!

    Its more like...just say,

*** I AM PROUD TO BE FILIPINO HYPOCRITE ***

  • Another jive talking fool who show no compassion to his own race. Now do you really think the parents of them starved stricken children are proud of themselves? And if ever given a chance I bet the majority of the populace would probably give anything to leave your corrupt stinking country. No wonder filipinos don't get any respect here or anywhere else. There's no one to blame but yourselves. What if the video I posted here were shown in a conference call with lotsa white folks and very few filipinos. What ya think those filipinos would feel like? Like being stepped on as wishing the call never happened! Take my advice, take care your people and double, maybe triple your tourism revenue. I mean you won't want to take your boss down there and show him the slums now, would ya? In closing y'all better wake up and clean up your act!

  • we may not be the most industrialized and 'rich' country mr. inspector, but you know what, the last person who needs to remind us of our imperfections is a person like you. if you are leading a bitter life, keep it to yourself..the people here's proud that even in the midst of our imperfections, there is stil somthing we can celebrate about. and thats how it should be isnt it. one thing we prided ourselves as Filipinos is that we are grateful people and our coping mechanism is so high that we dont sink in to our miseries and end up in mental facilities due to depression! we are just happy people and if you have a problem with that, then so be it. you'll never stop us from being proud of our roots no matter what if thats what's bothering you.

    now leave us alone!

  • Arnel Pineda will always be compared to Steve Perry and that is the ghost that will forever haunts him. He already accepted this fact and will try his best to be himself and not SP. Journey will have new materials and AP will stamp his own signature on those songs, he will create his own legacy as a Journey front man just like SP. He is that good and nobody can put a good man down as they say it.

When Augerie and JSS were tapped to front the band, die hard and loyal fans takes the chance to check and listen to them. A few controlled hiss and gnarl but no roaring howl, and why? If you are intelligent, I will not elaborate anymore. But I will say it any how so as not to mislead everyone. These two guys were nowhere near the caliber of SP, not worthy of comparison.( no offense meant ) true Perry fans just smile and in their mind telling Neal Schon and Jon Cain " We told you so

" Now, here is AP..the myth was shattered and the pedestal starting to crumble. The guy can sing closer than it can be to Perry and with more to offer. As true fanatics suddenly feel threatened, they started hurling insults, profanities, racial slurs and many more. Its not the music anymore. They know that they can not say anything about the singing ability.. go for the height, the accent, even the poor guys country's economy and poor state of his people..just anything but not his singing. Just blind defense.

For what was all said, pros and cons..the guy Pineda already created a buzz, thanks to the thousand of Filipinos who support him and created this unexpected wildfire.. by attending Journey concerts and by buying the DVD's /CDs, to a quiet thousands more non Filipinos who believes that it is the music and not the personality, I salute you. For how many months or years AP will be part of Journey, he will not disappoint you, Arnel will make you love and enjoy music even more.

Good night and God Bless us all.. Sonny " alesson " Ison, a Filipino....with nothing to be ashamed of..

  • LET'S ALL FACE IT...to all humans.. concerned and not concerned regardless of roots, colors..

A new history on the music world arises.
surprisingly changes its coarse 360 degrees
and this history being made by ARNEL as the JOURNEY'S SELLING ASSET on the music world will remain forever generation to generation.
No one can control how the world changes
No one can control how planets will re allign.

NO NEED to bull. . . MUSIC has no borders...
Music unites the world...if you love music...you will love the world... and you will love ARNEL as the lead Vocalist of Journey and his fantastic vocals no matter what .. make a TRY to listen to his songs you'll be converted instanly as his disciple and you'll be following him from there.

I have known ARNEL back from Olongapo,Subic Bay, somewhere '88 20yrs ago I'm one of his fan at CAL JAM Club, he was then a super kid vocalist of AMO Band, American service men keep throwing their wealth to the stage when this kid performs as he was so great then, one in a million talent one in a million fortune...Now his time arrives almost late to capture the world through his boneshaking voice. I'm perfectly sure he will.. as I have predicted 20yrs ago. WATCH AND SEE..my prediction got it.

I also sing journey's songs occationally with only 85% of Arnel's talent.

Currently based here in the U.K. and waiting for Journey's Concert here.. and can't help waiting for June.

LET'S ALL LOVE MUSIC.. LETS ALL LOVE ARNEL & JOURNEY ... ENJOY...AND PEACE TO ALL...

  • I'm an Old retired American and I knew very little about Journey until Arnel got the job as Lead Singer. I'm also new to YouTube and found out about Arnel while searching for articles about and songs by Clarice Pempengco. Both are inspiring stories and I've been cheering for both of them for a couple of months now. I've read some of the sick comments from people that are so stupid they probably couldn't find The Philippines on a map. I visited The Philippines, Years ago (1960) With the U S Navy. Slept on the flight deck of the USS Yorktown in Subic Bay because of the heat. The heat is the only negative thing I can think of about your beautiful country. Lord!! it was hot. (and I'm from the Southern USA) So! remember that in spite of the negative comments, there are many Americans who think well of you Filippinos and are cheering you on.
