Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon find forbidden love under the big top in their new period drama 'Water for Elephants,' and Reese says the film is "full of peril and drama and danger and love and romance."
"It's that kind of romance that is about second chances," explains Reese. "Sometimes you can be in your life and sort of trapped in a circumstance that you just can't get out of, and one day someone comes along and throws you a rope and you have an opportunity at a new life."
Based on the best-selling novel by Sara Gruen, 'Water for Elephants' follows an elderly man (Hal Holbrook) reminiscing about his days working as an animal caretaker at a circus. A young veterinary school student (Robert) witnessing the beauty and brutality of life under the big top, he falls for Marlena (Reese), the captivating star performer, and suffers the wrath of her charismatic but dangerous husband, August (Christoph Waltz).
"He falls in love with her at first sight," says Robert of his character. "She just seems kind of magical to him, and she doesn't see herself as that at all. She sees herself as just like a work horse, that's it, and thinks there's no fantasy in life and all, and he just refuses to see her as anything else other than this complete fantasy figure."
Watch the sparks fly when 'Water for Elephants' comes to town April 22, 2011.
Spanish actress Penelope Cruz joins some of Hollywood's biggest names after receiving her own star on the world famous Walk of Fame.
Penelope was joined by family and friends including Johnny Depp for the ceremony Friday in front of Disney's El Capitan Theatre. The actress stars with Johnny in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,' which hits theaters May 20.
Johnny called his friend Penelope an "incredible talent" and pointed out that she recently became the first actress from Spain to win an Academy Award. "For me what she is, is above all, a magnificent and magical woman. She's an inconceivably phenomenal mommy, which I've witnessed firsthand... it's pretty incredible," Johnny gushed.
Penelope -- who calls Johnny "the man with the hat" -- credits him with helping launch her career. "I came to Los Angeles the first time in 1994, I spoke no English, I only knew how to say two things, two sentences. One was 'How are you?' the other one was 'I want to work with Johnny Depp.' In the last ten years I've worked with him twice, and that has improved my English. So now I know how to say: 'I want to work with Johnny Depp again'" Penelope said.

William will wed Kate Middleton on April 29, and he told reporters, "I was telling everyone I did the rehearsal the other day and my knees started tapping quite nervously."
He continued, "It's quite a daunting prospect but very exciting and I'm thoroughly looking forward to it but there's still a lot of planning to be done in the last four weeks."
When it comes to the couple's future life in Anglesey, Wales, where he just graduated as a search and rescue pilot for the Royal Air Force, William said, "The beach is here and the general life is great to settle in and knuckle down to a proper job. We are left alone, it's good."

Michael Jackson's kids -- Prince, Paris and Blanket -- made a rare public outing this week and our cameras caught them.
With two security guards trying to block cameras at every turn, the kids attended a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards GBK gifting lounge with aunt La Toya Jackson to pick up some free swag. Blanket was mostly quiet and keeping to himself; Prince wore dark shades and sucked on a candy stick; while Paris wore a black Michael Jackson T-shirt in tribute to her dad.
At one point all four posed for a photo, with Paris holding a Red Cross flag in support of their efforts to help the victims of Japan.
"We're giving 20 percent back to the Red Cross, frankly because Japan is in such dire need right now, and we want to raise as much money as possible for them," Gavin Keilly, Founder/CEO of GBK Productions, told "The Insider." "The Jackson kids just came through and they had a fantastic time. They got bikes and they got candy and a brand new baseball game. It's just awesome. … This suite is all about discovering the kid in you."
Also seen at the gifting lounge was 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules' star Zachary Gordon.

"Dancing with the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba got engaged on "LIVE! with Regis & Kelly" Thursday morning where Jake Gyllenhaal was a guest, and the actor told the story from his point of view at the 'Source Code' screening in New York City.
"It was a surprise for all of us," said Jake, who jokingly presented Carrie Ann with an engagement ring towards the top of the morning show, not knowing of the proposal that lied ahead.
At the end of the show, the real engagement took place when the "Dancing" judge's boyfriend, Jesse Sloan, dropped down to one knee and popped the question.
Jake revealed that Thursday morning's shocker wasn't the first time he was caught off guard by a marriage proposal, saying, "I was actually once staying at a hotel and I saw, outside of my room, a guy proposed to a girl... I opened the door and I was like, 'Congratulations!'"
Jake develops his own romantic tale in the movie 'Source Code,' playing the love interest of Michelle Monaghan.
"It's very fast paced," Michelle said of the movie. "It's thought provoking and at the heart of it is a love story with Jake Gyllenhaal, so you can't go wrong."
