How do you get to be super successful in Hollywood?  If you're Eva Mendes, it's by being drop dead gorgeous, laid back, and smart.  The Cuban-American beauty has been compared to the timelessly attractive Sophia Loren, which probably doesn't hurt either.
 


 

So, what makes Eva tick?  Well, she got started in the biz by accident, having been discovered through a picture in a friend's portfolio.  Eva ditched out on her college degree to pursue Hollywood and she caught it.  She's worked her way up from video vixen (in Will Smith's "Miami" video and others) to bonafide leading lady (palling up again with Will in "Hitch"). 

 

 
Now, Eva's got her grittiest film yet coming out this week.  It's called "We Own the Night" and co-stars Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix.  What do you want to be that Eva owns the screen?
