Desperate Housewives is a Racist Show!
How desperate is the TV show "Desperate Housewives" and the ABC network to get more publicity? Did they purposely put a foot in Susan's mouth, played by Teri Hatcher, when they insulted Filipinos everywhere? In a scene in which Susan was told by her gynecologist that she might be hitting menopause, she replied:

"Can I just check those diplomas because I just want to make sure that they are not from some med school in the Philippines."

How stupid and irresponsible of the show's creators and the ABC network to air something so degrading like that! ABC reportedly apologized after fielding thousands of angry calls over a punchline in Sunday night's season premiere of the show. You can read and sign the petition just as I did that demanded an apology from ABC and "Desperate Housewives" here. However, the apology may not be enough for the Filipino community and activists who are deeply offended by such an asinine message attacking the validity of Filipinos in the medical profession, because it was not the first time Filipinos have been ridiculed for the sake of comedy in the U.S.
