The long-awaited ‘record-breaking’ divorce settlement between Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills is finally getting under way. The estranged couple along with their lawyers is expected to appear at a meeting with High Court judge.
This divorce battle between the former Beatle and Heather Mills could prove to be the most costly in British legal history and Sir Paul could face a total bill of up to £70million.
This deal will outshine the £48million divorce settlement of insurance broker John Charman, 53, who was ordered to pay £48million to his former wife Beverly in May this year in the biggest contested divorce settlements.
The hearing is supposed to be before Mr. Justice Coleridge. Divorce lawyers considers that there will be a settlement, with Sir Paul agreeing to increase his offer - believed to be around £20million - from his estimated £825million fortune.
