American Idol Tour In Trouble

The "American Idol" tour was reportedly fined for labor law violations. Apparently, New York state labor officials said organizers of the "American Idols Live Tour '07" was in violation of child labor laws by letting underage teens perform without permits. Apparently the organizers of the tour, Nineteen Touring LLC didn't bother getting the proper permits to hire and feature Jordin Sparks and Sanjaya Malakar, according to the New York Daily News.

After 16 violations, the company has agreed to pay $5,000 in fines. That's it? How about $50K or something a little bit more significant for 16 violations? That's chump change considering what the tour is probably making on all these teens.
