Anthony Kiedis Sires a Bear

Over the weekend, Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers chatted with People magazine, revealing that he is a proud father of a bouncing baby boy. As you can see here, photographers were keeping a close eye on Anthony and his girlfriend, Heather Christie, snapping these pix of the parents-to-be just before the birth of their son, Everly Bear. The first part of the boy's name is a tribute to one of Kiedis' favorite rock bands, the Everly Brothers.

"The mama came up with Bear," Kiedis says. "That made sense to me because he's from me and I feel like I'm part of the bear clan, and I think it's nice to have a little bit of earth in your name."
A part of me thinks that this is a silly name, making the child sound like an obscure Care Bear, but another part of me is just jealous, since my inventive parents decided to go with "Lisa Marie." Sigh. And they're weren't even Elvis fans. Damn you modern children with inventive names!
