Sad as it may seem for those of us rooting for this young couple, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are over and done with. And it seems that I'm not alone in my hope that these two could make it work--apparently die-hard fans of the film that brought these two together, "The Notebook," are approaching Ryan with anger and frustration over the end of what they believed was a storybook romance.
"Women are mad at me," Gosling says with a rueful smile. "A girl came up to me on the street and she almost smacked me. Like, 'How could you? How could you let a girl like that go?' I feel like I want to give people hugs, they seem so sad. Rachel and I should be the ones getting hugs! Instead, we're consoling everybody else."Poor Ryan. He seems like the kind of guy who probably did try to make it work, but for whatever reason, it wasn't meant to be for these two. I do feel for him--he seems like a really nice guy with a penchant for awkward suits. Maybe he should adopt the self-defense mechanism of carrying around a life-sized doll that resembles Rachel, to keep people from attacking him. Get it? Like in his movie. I'm such a culture vulture, with my scope of knowledge.

Do you believe Robert Pattinson when he says he does not care if people buy his album?
