The flame-haired British actress was best known for her starring role in The King and I.
Deborah was born in Scotland in September 1921, and worked as a ballet dancer before switching to acting.
Her breakthrough role was playing a nun in Black Narcissus (1947) -- although she also played a foxy Bond Girl in the original Casino Royale (The film was remade in 2006, and starred Daniel Craig.).
She was appointed a Commander of the British Empire in 1998 and has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, at 1709 Vine Street.
