Carrie Underwood Wants to Take Us on a "Carnival Ride"

The name of Carrie Underwood's sophomore album, "Carnival Ride," sounds an awful lot like a contender for the title of Britney Spears' latest. That aside, the two women couldn't be at more different points in their career--Carrie seems to be on top of her game, looking polished, poised and keeping her private life under wraps for the most part. However, the huge success of her debut album, "Some Hearts," isn't enough to guarantee that her follow-up will do just as well, but Carrie says she's OK with that.

"Even if it doesn't sell as many, I feel like we've made a better album, which is what you want to do. You want to keep getting better and have better songs and keep sounding better and moving forward. So even if we don't reach the numbers, I'm definitely still very pleased with it. I don't think it will be a letdown at all."
Well, she seems like a nice girl who keeps to herself. Plus, America voted for her for goodness' sake, so I'm not going to be the idiot who starts the backlash against her. My mother raised me better than that--she taught me to wait until someone else finds fault with her and then to jump on the bandwagon after it had become the popular consensus.
