See More... According to the Manchester Union-Leader,Adam Sandler has pledged $1 million dollars to the Manchester Boys & Girls Club.

The donation, officially announced today, coincides with the kick-off of the Boys & Girls Club $6.6 million capital and endowment fund-raising campaign called "Building Better Lives."

Said executive director Gary Frost:

"This is an aggressive campaign; it's a challenging campaign, and there are probably some who question whether we can pull it off, but all the more credit to Adam. He sees this as a way to give back to the community where he grew up."

Frost also said the campaign funds will go to renovate the Boys & Girls Union Street clubhouse as well as an addition 15,000-square-foot.

During a photo shoot for the new campaign, Sandler said:

"Hello, everybody out there in Manchester, New Hampshire-land. Did you hear they need to expand the Boys and Girls Club? They need money. I gave some of my money. I felt good about it because I have a lot of good memories of that place."

Note: It's always nice to report some good stuff for a change.

  • Finally, a celebrity, giving back to people that make him famous... Good for him!!!! now if only a few more would follow in his footsteps., rather than having 100 million dollar mansions, with 600 pairs of shoes, etc....
