I am almost in too abject a state of denial to report this….but today….reports that Ellen Degeneres and girlfriend of three years Portia de Rossi have broken up are incessant.
Speculation began when Ellen broke down on her show ostensibly over the whole Iggy dog debacle. Insiders say that Ellen, who was only mildly upset about the controversial pup, sobbed uncontrollably because her homelife is slowly, but surely, falling apart.
A source says that Portia is looking to upgrade: “When it comes down to it, [Portia] wants to be with someone younger ad hotter. She wants out, but Ellen has been begging her to stay. Portia is really everything in this world to her.”
There is hope for us yet, though! Degeneres’ publicist steadfastly maintains that reports of a split are ridiculous:
“The Star article is fabricated and false,” DeGeneres’ publicist said on Friday. “If you believe Star and other tabloids are reliable sources, then they [DeGeneres and De Rossi] have had multiple children and marriages, as well.”
