Well, sort of. His much awaited first interview after his attempted suicide hit the Internet last night. Nope, no big interview for Diane Sawyer or Oprah – Wilson gave his first interview with Darjeeling Limited director Wes Anderson. On MySpace. Fancy, huh?
Was there any discussion of the suicide? Nope. The MySpace Artist on Artist series interview lasted all of five minutes, which gave pals Anderson and Wilson time to discuss the upcoming film and other
quirkiness. No exclusives here about why he tried to kill himself. No outpouring or tears. Just fun and movie promotion.
The chat was a give-and-take of interviewing one another – Wilson asking about the India location and the two chatted about monkeys. Yep, monkeys. Wilson also commented that this film is his favorite. What better way to promote a project? "Because…I just like the themes it's exploring," he explained, "in the way my character says, 'I want us to become brothers again, like we used to be.'” We're just glad Owen is
still among the living.
