In court documents released Tuesday and obtained by Usmagazine.com, L.A. County Commissioner Scott L. Gordon ruled that Spears pay all but $40,000 dollars of Federline’s October 10 request for $160,000 in legal costs from his ex.
The decision was made based on the former couple’s income petitions — and while “recording artist” Spears claims an average monthly income of $737,000, “self employed performance artist” Federline has previously stated he has no net income after business expenses.
Federline currently receives from Spears $15,000 in child support, and also $20,000 a month in spousal support, which expires on November 15.
In addition to paying Federline’s legal fees, the documents show that Spears has paid her attorneys $225,000 since her divorce was declared final on July 30.
