Winona Ryder has been laying low since that shoplifting episode some years back. See, young Hollywood? You can actually fly under the radar after you make a major snafu.
While Ryder was a force to be reckoned with in memorable roles in Heathers, Edward Scissorhands and Reality Bites (to name a few), her movie choices of late have been in much smaller films (A Scanner Darkly comes to mind).
Now, Ryder is back in the mainstream movie business again, reportedly signed on to sport the Spock ears in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek film. She’ll play mama to Zachary Quinto’s Spock.
Will Winona’s return to the big screen be met with fanfare or yawns? And do people really care about her comeback? We have all but forgotten about her run-in with the law over her “five finger discount.”
